Though the channel bears Motor Trend?s name, it will incorporate content from other SIM mags like Hot Rod, Motorcyclist, Lowrider, FourWheeler, Dirt Rider, Car Craft, Automobile and Import Tuner. SIM is producing eight new shows, including two 22-minute feature-length TV shows?Roadkill and Epic Drives.

Source Interlink Media (SIM) announced today the launch of the Motor Trend YouTube Channel making original and compelling automotive content available to online audiences immediately. The Motor Trend Channel is part of YouTube?s rollout of around 100 new original content channels throughout the year.

The Motor Trend Channel?s programs have been developed to create content from the unique opportunities and insights offered by SIM?s large portfolio of automotive media brands, from Motor Trend to Hot Rod, Motorcyclist, Lowrider, FourWheeler, Dirt Rider, Car Craft, Automobile, Import Tuner and more. The programs cover first rides and drives and tests of the latest two- and four-wheeled machinery, as well as automotive lifestyle and documentary shows.

A full schedule of programming that includes eight separate shows is expected to be uploaded and available by February 17. New videos from each of the shows will be posted on a varying schedule, but there will be new content available every day, Monday to Friday.

Motor Trend?s new programming will be produced by Michael Suggett and Julia Sanchez with MacKenzie serving as Executive Producer. Jim Gleason will assume the role of Creative Manager.

Romanian accused of hacking NASA computers

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? The Los Angeles U.S. attorney's office says a federal grand jury has indicted a Romanian citizen on charges he hacked into 25 climate-research computers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Prosecutors say Tuesday's indictment charges 25-year-old Robert Butyka with one count of unauthorized impairment of a protected computer.

The 2010 hacking made computers in the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder Program unusable for two months while a malicious code was removed and data restored.

The attorney's office says NASA worked with Romanian authorities, resulting in Butyka's conviction in Romania last month. He's been sentenced to three years in prison there and would face a 10-year term if convicted in the U.S.

Damage from the hacking is estimated at $500,000, including costs of work on the computers and lost research time.

The campaign says it refunded the money raised by family members after the newspaper asked about the brothers' fundraising role.
