Human Resources, Communications & Project Manager - 992500 ...

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; however, hours may vary to meet departmental needs.

Basic Function:
To prepare communication materials and lead and support special projects in keeping with the strategic plan for the division and to enhance faculty and staff engagement in HR programs, services and initiatives. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Oversee and manage all activities related to communications in support of the Human Resources Division and in collaboration with the Human Resources Leadership Team to ensure communications align with the overall university strategic message.

Gather and analyze information on various division and university initiatives; write project plans, presentations, white papers and/or reports.

Work collaboratively with the Associate Vice President and the Human Resources Division's senior leadership on strategic planning initiatives and projects.

Leverage successful communication strategies and tactics to enhance effective faculty and staff engagement in HR programs, services and initiatives.

Facilitate the development of strategic direction and overall communications with stakeholders and functional areas and lead and support special projects and initiatives of Human Resources.

Oversee design, editing, and production of programs, promotional materials, and other publications; work with University Communications and Marketing to update and enhance employee communication pieces.

Ensure accuracy and consistency of messages among units to include all forms of internal and external communications used.

Develop and/or enhance communication procedures and templates.

Maintain website for Human Resources Division.

Coordinate implementation of employee recognition programs.

Assist the Human Resources Employee Relations Department in the communication efforts associated with employee-recognition and other human resources special events, inclusive of "20 Year Club", "Staff Recognition", "Office Support Day" and the Human Resources Division's effort related to the "Veteran's Day Program.

As directed by the Associate Vice President, serve on university committees dealing with communications, marketing, employee communications or other human resources events.

Work with UCM in the support of university-wide branding efforts.

Develop and implement an evaluation process for communications and special events.

Serve on various department, division, and University committees.

Perform related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in HR, business, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field. A minimum of five years experience in one or more functional human resources areas.

Knowledge Of:
A variety of writing styles including technical, informal, and promotional.

Skill In:
Written and interpersonal communication (e.g., group presentation and facilitation skills) with the ability to communicate and work effectively with all components of the university

Ability To:
Build credibility, persuade and influence project key stakeholders including senior level management

Work collaboratively with university departments and academic units

Organize and prioritize work with a high degree of initiative and independence

Analyze and perform in-depth research on a variety of human resource issues

Work independently and as part of a team

Possess considerable attention to detail and a high level of quality control

Exercise creativity and problem solving

Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop and other communication software

Demonstrated project management skills; including plan development through successful implementation

Managing several highly complex projects and communication efforts simultaneously

Additional Information
(Unique characteristics or needs of the position):
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in human resources/employee internal communications; experience in wellness, health and productivity program communications.

Must pass a security check.
