Just last week, Ford showed off a slew of 2013 Fusion concepts destined for this year?s SEMA show. This week, the Blue Oval is giving us a sneak peek at five 2013 Ford Focus ST concepts which will make their debut in two week on the SEMA show floor.
As with most SEMA concepts, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some are polarizing, while others are relatively easy on the eyes. One of the more questionable SEMA Focus ST concepts is without a doubt the Galpin Auto Sports Focus ST. The GAS Ford Focus ST attempts to infuse a little bit of rally car DNA into the hot hatch by fitting it with a rally-inspired body kit and a paint scheme it calls ?eye-catching.? Aside from the exterior modifications, GAS also fits the Focus ST with coil-over springs, a big brake kit, and methanol injection.
Another controversial Focus will likely be the Tanner Foust Racing Focus ST. That car gets a body kit inspired by the Focus ST-R and an interesting gray, black, and red paint scheme. Underneath its polarizing sheet metal, Foust?s Focus gets much more interesting; it gets a cold air intake, Magnaflow exhaust, and a fully adjustable suspension, with the end-goal being a fun weekend track and canyon car that?s also comfortable enough for a SoCal commute.
A couple aftermarket tuners hoped to accentuate the Focus? European roots through their modifications. Both Bojix Design and Steeda Autosports took their orange and black STs and fitted them with big black wheels, new shocks, and new brakes.
The M&J Enterprises Focus ST looks to follow the Bojix and Steeda formula, but backs it up with more power courtesy of Cosworth and Ford Racing. The M&J Focus ST is fitted with a Ford Racing engine, boosting power from 252 hp up to 330 hp. The hatchback then gets Ford Racing suspension mods, and a Cosworth wheel and tire package to help transmit its newfound power to the ground.
